The Sts. Constantine – Cyril and Methodius Sculpture – represents the two brothers and scholars born in Thessaloniki, Greece. Invited in 863 by Prince Rastislav to preach Christianity among his people, they also created the first Slavic script, the Glagolic, and translated fundamental religious texts into Old Slavic, creating a basis for Slavic literacy and scholarship.
